Akatsuki's Invasion

Zetsu arrives just as Hidan is finishing his ritual. He gets on Hidan for taking too much time, as does Kakuzu, who is more concerned not with finding the Jinchuuriki, but money matters. The situation doesn't improve when Hidan complains later about the long distance to find the Jinchuuriki.

In Konoha, Kakashi tests Naruto on his ability to split a leaf. He does, through Tajuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, but collapses from exhaustion. When Naruto wakes up later on, Kakashi and Yamato give him the next assignment: cut the waterfall using his chakra. By doing this, Naruto will at least be able to use nature manipulation in battle and one step closer to creating his new move.

However, this step requires Yamato's chakra, so he creates several statues similar to when he had to extract the Kyuubi's chakra from Naruto. Naruto gets to work with several Kage Bunshin on splitting the waterfall. Soon, Kakashi figures it's time for an example.

From a distance, Sakura and Sai watch. Sakura, helping in any way she can, goes shopping, but does not like how Naruto is forcing himself to train and putting more strain on his body. Then again, no one trains as hard as he does.

Hidan and Kakuzu arrive at a temple and force down the entrance. Their opponent will be Chiriku, who, as it turns out, has a 30 million bounty on his head- much to Hidan's disappointment that Kakuzu came for more money.

So Hidan and Kakuzu charge as Chiriku summons some hidden power and appears to make light work of them. As it turns out, Chiriku is not a Jinchuuriki, so Hidan can do as he pleases.

Sometime later, amidst corpses of the monks, Hidan completes his ritual. One, however, survives and escapes to warn Konoha.

With the training, Naruto wants to use more Kage Bunshin, but using more would mean each clone receives less chakra. Naruto is in a rush even though he split a leaf in hours when it would take months to complete. However, even if it took Sasuke days to learn Chidori, Naruto still has a lot of catching up to do.

As such, the waterfall extends and Naruto has more room to perform- putting quite a strain on Yamato in the process.

Naruto uses Tajuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu and the training begins once again.
