As Sasori plunges the poison tipped blade deeper into Sakura’s abdomen,
Sakura makes a feeble attempt to heal her organs while being stabbed.
The poison begins to work its effect on Sakura as well, but that stops
when Chiyo injects the last antidote into Sakura’s leg before
collapsing.
Sasori disconnects his hand and pulls another blade out of his arm. He
goes in for the kill, but at the last second, he is stabbed through the
heart by two poison dipped blades held by the Mother and Father
puppets. Since Sasori’s heart is the only human part of him left, that
is his weak point.
Sakura collapses with the sword still inside of her, but Chiyo slowly
(and painfully, for Sakura, at least) removes the blade. It’s
pointless, according to Sasori, since she was stabbed in a vital point,
but Chiyo doesn’t plan to heal Sakura with simple healing techniques-
she gives her some of her own life force with a reincarnation jutsu.
It’s a technique that can bring anyone back to life at the expense of
the user.
When Sakura finally wakes up, Sasori is surprised since the
reincarnation jutsu should take the user’s life, but Sakura was only
badly wounded and Chiyo did not have to give her all of her life force,
so they were both able to survive.
“What a shame,” Sasori replies before Sakura punches him in the face.
It’s all no good, since Sasori’s body feels no pain. If Chiyo were to
die, to Sasori, she’d be nothing more than the other victims that he
had killed in the past. Sakura, with the life that she lives, angrily
asks Sasori if he knows what a family or even a life is. Sasori,
however, doesn’t believe that a shinobi should say such a thing, and
Sakura did once believe that shinobi shouldn’t show any emotion.
Just when Sakura is about ramble on anymore about seeing the world from
Sasori’s limited point of view, Chiyo explains that Sasori grew up with
the somewhat twisted teachings of the Suna Village. If Sasori wanted a
friend or family, he’d just turn them into a puppet…if he thinks
they’re worthy. To him, quality beats out quantity.
Before dying, Sasori decides to reward Sakura for defeating him by
telling him about Orochimaru’s whereabouts. In ten days, Sakura, and
whoever else goes with her, should go to the Bridge of Heaven and Earth
in the Grass Village at noon because Sasori has a spy who is posing as
one of Orochimaru’s underlings. Before he can finish, Sasori dies and
collapses alongside his parent puppets.
Oddly enough, Sasori saw through Chiyo’s final attack, but chose not to dodge it.
Elsewhere, at long last, Kakashi is ready for battle and reveals the Mangekyou Sharingan
