Infiltration! The Poisonous Snake's Hideout
Unmoved by Sai's presence, Sasuke presses Orochimaru to show him the special
jutsu he had planned to teach him. Also unmoved by Sasuke's attitude, Orochimaru
presents Sai as a friend so the two can reminisce about the good old days in
Konoha, but Sasuke could care less and is not receiving of Sai's friendly
introduction. Whenever Sai forces himself to smile, it seems that people still
hate him, even Naruto and Sakura. With Sasuke, however, he thinks he can get
along better with him.
Sasuke thinks otherwise and gives Sai a sample of just how powerful the
Sharingan can be. He casts Sai into a warped genjutsu with dissolving ground and
a giant Sharingan before him. Fear traces Sai's face and he is so spooked that
he involuntarily takes a step backwards and stumbles onto the floor. Sai looks
at his hands and body and is surprised that he, someone who shows little to no
emotion whatsoever, could start sweating just by looking into Sasuke's eyes.
Orochimaru warns Sai not to get on Sasuke's bad side since his temper is worse
than Orochimaru's.
Before Sasuke leaves, Sai tells him of Naruto's never ending journey to find his
'brother,' but Sasuke makes it clear that he only has one brother, who he wants
to kill. That is all that matters to him.
Orochimaru leaves and asks Kabuto to make a Bingo Book out of the files Sai
brought with him. The files contain information on Konoha's ANBU Black Ops; one
of the members among the files is Yamato. Sai attempts to make idle chit chat
with Kabuto about meeting the other subordinates in the hideout, but that will
not be possible since there IS no one else there besides himself, Kabuto,
Orochimaru, and Sasuke.
Outside, before Naruto can recklessly burst into the base, Yamato absorbs his
wood Bunshin back into his skin and leaves behind two tracking seeds that he
gives to Naruto and Sakura. The seeds only respond to Yamato's chakra and were
also slipped into Sai's clothes and food when they were at the hot springs,
which would explain how Yamato had been able to track Sai. Per Tsunade's
instructions, Yamato has kept a tight lock on Sai and finally has him tracked to
Orochimaru's hideout.
Unable to detect many presences, Yamato decides the best way to enter is to
burrow underground through Earth style techniques and create an opening parallel
to the entrance tunnel. Yamato creates a tunnel and jumps in, followed by Sakura
and eventually Naruto.
Kabuto shows Sai his room and tells him to keep quiet unless summoned. For
safety precautions, he also locks Sai in the room. Sai listens until Kabuto is
out of sight and searches for any type of tracer or something that may be
monitoring his movements.
After arriving outside the tunnel, Naruto suggests breaking in with a good old
fashioned Rasengan, which would definitely give away their position. When Yamato
finds a crack in the wall, he applies a bit of pressure through a wood jutsu
until he carves a perfect entrance. Before entering the hideout, he advises
Naruto and Sakura to conserve as much chakra as possible or they'll be detected
while searching for Sai, their first target.
As this is happening, Sai forms several hand seals before pressing his hands
into a scroll and summoning a book. He flips through the book and comes across
one name at the same time that Kabuto decides to head back to Sai's room to
retrieve the folder needed to make a Bingo Book. Simultaneously, Yamato, Naruto,
and Sakura are also closing in on Sai's room.
Suddenly, Sai hears a knock at the door.
