The Old Monk's Prayer
Reports flood into Konoha, but there is still no sign of Akatsuki. However,
when Asuma's group arrives at the remains of the Fire Temple, they learn that
Chiriku had a thirty million bounty on his head. Therefore, if the Akatsuki
members knew this- and since Chiriku's body is the only one missing- they could
take him to an exchange point for a hefty sum. There are five exchange points.
Before the team departs, the elder there asks to say a prayer, which he does as
Asuma reflects on his times with Chiriku and how he is the last of his group to
carry on the title.
While Sakura's specialized homemade soldier pills
have the opposite effect on Sai, the trio of Kakashi, Yamato and Naruto head to
Ichiraku. The restaurant has undergone major changes: in essence, Ayame
underwent noodle training and now the restaurant only serves tsukemen, which is
kind of like ramen, but not really. Back and forth, Naruto and Ayame argue over
ingredients versus taste, the customer versus the creator, but in the end,
Naruto finishes his meal and Kakashi smooth talks his way out of the bill.
As Hidan and Kakuzu continue their walk to the rendezvous point, their
partnership is tested when Hidan prefers to dump the body and abandon the side
mission of getting money, but Kakuzu will have none of that.
And as it
turns out, the cool surprise Kakashi has for Naruto? As chakra swirls in
Kakashi's hand, Naruto watches in awe as he watches Kakashi create the Rasengan.
