The Third Kazekage

Sakura does a good job avoiding and parrying the two iron sand shapes that Sasori has created, but the resulting shockwaves made when the shapes hit the cave cause it to begin collapsing in on itself.

Naruto can’t wait for Kakashi’s plan on taking out Deidara, so he rushes on ahead. Elsewhere, each of the members of Team Gai all hear a sudden noise and believe that it’s coming from the area where Sakura and Chiyo are, so they couldn’t have been killed yet.

Back at the now destroyed cave, Sakura slowly begins to read and interpret every single one of Sasori’s movements based on how his fingers move before he attacks, even without Chiyo’s help.

A flashback shows Sakura’s training under Tsunade, who explains that attack power is only the second most important thing a medical shinobi should have. The first is to avoid being hit because if the medical shinobi is taken out, who’s going to be there to heal the rest of the squad if and when they are defeated? Tsunade’s training is that she’ll attack Sakura with full force and Sakura’s task is to avoid being hit.

It’s a death wish, but Sakura doesn’t have a choice. Tsunade wrecks the terrain around her with an axe kick and then gets Sakura with a hard punch in the gut, asking her why the hell would she close her eyes when an enemy is attacking her? She should be watching the enemy before, during, and after the attack in order to read their movements.

Tsunade explains that people have dominant arms and legs, as well as other ticks that make it possible to read their movements. When one becomes a chuunin or jounin, they train in order to lessen those movements so their attacks will be harder to detect. Because they can never be totally eliminated, they should be used to determine the enemy’s weak spot.

Back in the present, Sakura begins reading Sasori’s movements even better based on how his hands and arms move. At this point, Sasori notices that Sakura is watching him a bit too carefully and decides to use another move at the expense of his chakra. The two shapes combine and split apart every which away, forming something that looks like a giant maze. This is Satetsu Kaihou (Iron Sand World Model) and it all comes crashing down around Sakura.

When Chiyo finally spots Sakura, she sees that Sakura has a scratch and is bleeding. Sasori put poison into the iron sand, and as Chiyo told Sakura, even a tiny scratch can be fatal. Sakura falls to the ground and collapses. The poison causes the body to become numb and Sakura has three days left to live it left alone, but Sasori doesn’t have that type of time. Just as the Third Kazekage puppet goes in for the kill, Sakura destroys the puppet with an almighty punch, shattering it into bits and pieces.
