Under the Starry Sky
While Hidan is dragged along by Kakuzu in order to receive a hefty sum for
Chirikru's bounty, the training continues for Naruto, who wants to go on as long
as he can, but has to comprehend with the stress that the training is putting on
Yamato.
From a distance, Sakura gives Naruto her own cooked food and a
note to encourage him. Even though she is doing all she can, Sakura still feels
that her efforts are small and insignificant in comparison to what Naruto is
doing to catch up to Sasuke. At one point, she catches up with Iruka and the two
reminisce on how the old days with the Rookie Nine and how everyone has grown
stronger.
The next day, the lone monk that escaped the complex reports to
Tsunade about Akatsuki's movements. She, in turn, assigns special squads to
intercept and incapacitate or kill the Akatsuki members. As this plan is
explained, Asuma learns of Chiriku's death. No time is allowed for grieving as
the squads are dismissed.
Elsewhere, alone in her room, Sakura finds the
old photo of Team 7 before the separation. Even though she still believes that
her efforts are tiny in comparison to what Naruto is doing to catch Sasuke, she
remembers that the most important thing is how she feels about Naruto, not what
she does.
As this happens, Naruto forgoes his sleeping to continue his
training. At the thought of Sasuke, Naruto and his Kage Bunshins summon the
strength to split the waterfall in two.
